CITYWIDE has reaffirmed its commitment to closing the gap on Indigenous procurement after renewing ties with Supply Nation.
The Aboriginal procurement body connects its members to Indigenous suppliers to build a vibrant and prosperous Indigenous business sector by incorporating Indigenous-owned businesses into the supply chain of Australian companies and government agencies.
As Indigenous economic development and the Indigenous business sector continue to grow, the case for supplier diversity for organisations like our business remains important.
“Renewing our membership of Supply Nation reinforces our commitment to diversity both within our workforce and procurement processes,” Citywide’s Head of Procurement Peter Mackie said.
Citywide has a history of initiatives designed to help close the gap for Australia’s Indigenous peoples and communities, including increasing Indigenous engagement and employment opportunities through our CSR and community engagement strategy.
Supply Nation Relationship Manager Paul Exarhos said the business benefits of supplier diversity ranged from increased flexibility and innovation in the organisation to sustainability and value in the supply chain.
“We will continue to grow our supplier database and build the services and resources for our members to assist in embedding Indigenous-owned businesses within your supply chain,” Paul said.
