After more than two decades delivering roadside vegetation and pest management across South East Queensland, Technigro has been awarded a further term on one of Australia's largest single contracts for herbicide application in concrete kerb and channel.

To put that in context, it covers the most populous local government area in the country, and one of the largest kerb and channel networks with it. Winning work of this scale is one thing. Holding it for twenty years is another. That comes down to consistent delivery, clear communication, and a client who never has to wonder what they are getting.

Delivering at scale

Technigro’s program covers minor and major roads across the network, treated on a rolling cycle so that no part of the network is left behind. Work of this size is only ever as good as the planning behind it: crews, traffic control, treatment windows and reporting all have to line up before a single machine moves.

That planning is what allows us to deliver consistently rather than reactively. Our client knows what is being treated, when it is being treated, and what has already been completed, and our reporting is built to answer those questions before they are asked.

Working safely in a high-risk environment

Roadside vegetation management is among the higher-risk work in our industry. Crews operate metres from live traffic, frequently after dark, on roads that never really stop being used. Night works reduce disruption for the community, but they raise the risk profile for our teams, and that has to be managed deliberately rather than assumed away.

Our crews are formally qualified and hold the relevant industry certifications, works are planned around traffic conditions rather than convenience, and every shift is set up with the controls the environment actually requires.

Technigro is also a registered traffic management company, which most of our competitors are not. Traffic control and weed treatment are planned, resourced and delivered by one accountable team, which removes a layer of coordination risk for our client and keeps works moving to schedule.

Twenty years of method

Contracts like this one are not held by accident. They are held by teams who have spent years working out how to do the job better, and then making that improvement stick across every crew and every shift.

Two decades on this network has shaped the technology and methods behind our productivity, efficiency and service quality - the thinking that determines how a shift is planned, how a treatment is applied, and how we know the work has met the standard before anyone needs to ask.

That accumulated knowledge is a large part of what our client is actually buying. Plenty of contractors can quote a roadside program. Far fewer can run one at this scale, at night, for twenty years, and keep making it better.

The long view

Safe delivery, on time, at scale, term after term. That is what a contract of this size is really measured on - and with the right people behind it, it is what we intend to keep delivering.
