We believe that it is essential to use a range of techniques in order to keep your water body healthy and weed free.
- Manual removal to remove the bulk of unwanted vegetation to minimise the risk of adding nutrients to the waterbody;
- Minimal herbicide application, including the use of only aquatically registered herbicides;
- Taking care of fauna, as they play a vital role in the health of your waterbody;
- Maintaining a balance of vegetation on the waterbody – such as leaving buffers around the edges.
Healthy waterbodies are a benefit to the surrounding ecosystems, as well as being financially (more efficient) to the landholder in the long run.
Aquatic invasive species and weeds are detrimental to the general health of your waterbody, and should be removed or treated. Aquatic weeds generally shade out the water body, which has follow on effects such as: reduced flow; nitrification; growth of algae and bacteria; harbouring of mosquitos and other unwanted pests; erosion; and the reduction in native flora and fauna.
Technigro has a variety of equipment that can manually remove unwanted species, and provide ongoing maintenance and treatments to keep your waterbody healthy.
Our Weedoo Tigercat harvesters are multi-use diesel powered boats with several attachments for a variety of uses. They are rugged machines that are designed to tackle the toughest weed removal jobs in the most extreme and challenging aquatic conditions.
The Argo Avenger is an eight wheeled all terrain aquatic machine. It has the capability to operate in areas where access is limited for other vehicles, and can operate on land, in dry or wet/muddy conditions, or on the water to treat aquatic weeds or to gain access across waterbodies.
